Keep a local number wherever you live

Moved abroad, studying overseas or travelling for months? Keep a number from home so family, landlords, banks and local services can always reach you — over Wi-Fi or mobile data, with no roaming.

  • No roaming fees on your HeyNum line
  • Works on Wi-Fi and mobile data
  • Same price wherever you live

Why a second number

Your personal number, protected

With your personal number

  • Roaming on your home SIM is expensive — or stops working after a few months.
  • Services back home often only accept a local number.
  • Family and friends hesitate to call an international number.

With a HeyNum number

  • A home-country number that rings wherever you have internet.
  • Local texts and codes, in your browser.
  • Family calls you for the price of a local call.

Set it up

Ready in three steps

It takes about a minute — and you never need to show an ID.

  1. 1

    Choose your country

Get a number from the country you're leaving — or from the one you're moving to, before you land.

  2. 2

    Share it before you go

Give it to family, your landlord, your accountant, schools and delivery services.

  3. 3

    Pick up anywhere

Answer on Wi-Fi or data, forward calls to your local SIM, and read texts in your browser.

Practical tips

Five habits that keep you safe

Good advice, whether or not you use HeyNum.

1

Set it up before you leave

Update your contacts while you still have time, and make a test call before your flight.

2

Pair it with a local SIM or eSIM

Use a local data plan abroad and keep your HeyNum number for calls and texts from home.

3

Mind the time difference

Set quiet hours so calls from home don't wake you at 3 am.

4

Lock it in for the year

Yearly billing keeps your number for 12 months, with two months free.

5

Check your bank's rules

Some banks only send codes to numbers on local network SIMs — ask yours before you switch.

Contact support
Does HeyNum work in every country?

It works anywhere you have an internet connection. A few countries restrict internet calling on their local networks, in which case calls may not connect there, while texts keep arriving in your inbox.

Will I pay roaming charges?

Not on your HeyNum line: calls and texts travel over the internet. You only use data from your Wi-Fi or local mobile plan — roughly 0.3 to 0.6 MB per minute of calling.

Can I get a number for the country I'm moving to?

Yes. Many people get one before they arrive, to sort out housing, jobs and schools in advance.

How do people back home call me?

Just like any local mobile number, at the price of a normal call in their country. They don't need to know you're abroad.
