How it works

Connected before you land.

  1. 1

    Check your phone

Make sure it supports eSIM and isn't locked to a carrier — most phones from 2019 onwards do.

  2. 2

    Install before you fly

Scan the QR code or tap “Install” on your phone. It takes about two minutes on Wi-Fi.

  3. 3

    Land and switch on data

Turn on data roaming for the eSIM line. Your data pack starts when it connects — no roaming fees from your carrier.

Compatibility

Does my phone support eSIM?

Most recent smartphones do. Your phone must also be carrier-unlocked to use an eSIM from another provider.

How to check

  • iPhone: Settings → General → About. If you see “Available SIM” or “Digital SIM”, your iPhone supports eSIM.
  • Android: Settings → Connections (or Network) → SIM manager. Look for “Add eSIM”.
  • Anywhere: dial *#06#. If an EID number appears, your phone supports eSIM.
Apple
iPhone XR, XS and every model since (including iPhone SE 2nd generation and later); iPad Pro, Air and mini with cellular.
Google
Pixel 3 and every model since (some Pixel 3 models sold in Japan and Australia excepted).
Samsung
Galaxy S20 and later, Galaxy Z Flip and Z Fold series, Galaxy Note 20 and selected A-series models.
Others
Many recent Motorola, Xiaomi, OnePlus, Oppo and Sony phones. Check your phone's settings for “Add eSIM”.

Better together

eSIM for data. HeyNum for your number.

Use the eSIM's data abroad and keep calling and texting from your HeyNum number in your browser — so people at home reach you on a number they know, with no roaming on either side.

Contact support
Does a travel eSIM include a phone number?

No. Our travel eSIMs are data only. To call and text over that data without roaming fees, pair it with a HeyNum number — or keep using your messaging apps.

When does my eSIM start?

Your data pack's validity starts when the eSIM first connects to a supported network at your destination — not when you buy or install it. You can install it days before you leave.

Can I keep my regular SIM?

Yes. Your phone keeps your main line for calls and texts, and uses the eSIM for data abroad. You choose which line is used for mobile data in your settings.

Can I use my eSIM as a hotspot?

Yes. You can share your eSIM data with your laptop or a travel companion, within your data pack's allowance.

What speeds can I expect?

4G or 5G where available, through local partner networks. Speeds depend on the network and the area, just like for local customers.

What if I run out of data?

Top up the same eSIM with another data pack from your account — no need to install anything new.

Can I get a refund?

Yes, if the eSIM hasn't been installed, within 30 days of purchase. Once installed, we refund only if a technical problem on our side prevents you from using it. See our refund policy.
